THINK COUNTERTOPS... THEN LAYOUTS
Deciding the colour of the doors and panels on a new kitchen will not affect the layout, however the choice of countertop may do - and your choice of countertop may influence the colour. Let me try and explain!
When I am designing kitchens I tend to minimise or avoid 'joints' in the countertop. If quartz (such as Caesarstone) or natural stone is used there will be a limit to the largest available slab, which will possibly affect he length of an island or a run. Slab sizes will vary between different manufacturers - who typically will have some colours available in standard sizes and others in both standard and jumbo sizes - just to confuse us all further!
If Corian is used any joints are completely smooth and virtually impossible to spot.... so if an island is going to be say 5m long... I would consider using Corian in order to avoid a join.
So before I get too deeply into a design I'll always have a quick conversation about countertop requirements.
Later in the process we circle back and look in more detail about the Pros and Cons of different types of Countertops... and that's a good topic for the next 'Insight'! t
CORIAN IS SEAMLESS SO IDEAL FOR THIS TYPE OF LAYOUT...
